Getting ‘Free’ Wi-Fi At Starbucks — Courant.com

Only 5 easy steps to get ‘Free’ Internet!   Oh, yeah and only 2 hours a day, you don’t have to go home, but you can’t stay here.  Starbucks has a knack to make simple things ridiculously  complex.

1. If you already have a Starbucks card that you have used or added money to in the past 30 days, skip to step 2. If not, go to the Starbucks website and add money to the card or use it if it still has a balance.
2. Turn on your laptop and connect to the AT&T Wi-Fi network, which should be called “attwifi.” Go to starbucks.com/wifi.

3. Click “Get Started Now” and then click “Sign Up.”
4. Select if you already have a Starbucks.com account or not and follow the instructions. Once you see that you have both a Starbucks.com and an AT&T Wi-Fi account, click on “Sign In” under “In a Starbucks Store?” Enter your AT&T Wi-Fi username and password, select AT&T WiFi, accept the terms of service and log in.
5. You should see a message that you are now connected to the Internet. You’ll be able to get free Wi-Fi for two consecutive hours a day. In order to keep using the free Wi-Fi you’ll have to make sure that you make a purchase with your Starbucks card or load it with money at least once every 30 days.
